We went out to the boat for the first time in three months to see how Tornseglare is handling the winter. Happy to report that everything looks good! Most notably, different from last winter, the cabin was perfectly dry. We changed the desiccant to keep it that way, and did a few small things around the boat then enjoyed a fika.
The drains at the bottom of the cockpit were clogged with leaves, which we removed.
Some of the lines were soggy, we tied them up to stay drier.

An ongoing annoyance is icky water accumulation in the cockpit facks. We are experimenting with leaving the plexiglass cabin doors over them to try to keep water out.

There was a lot of seaweed on the dock line weighting it down. We cleaned it off and debated what to do with it. I used to work on a research program on the ecosystem services of seagrass and I know it’s under-appreciated. But it gets caught up in propellers in the harbor and weighs down lines, plus there was some plastic tangled up in this pile, so we decided to throw it away.

Then we split a delicious semla and called it a day! Very happy to see our boat doing fine. 💙

P.S. Very excited it seems there’s a vegan fish and craft beer place opening 50m From our boat next month !!
What in the world is Vegan Fish? lol
The way to keep growth off your lines is usually to keep the lines out of the water somehow.
