The bushing story made me laugh... Been there done that. The funny thing is... There is often a simpler way to do things...only to be discovered far too late to be helpful lol. Boat Life.

Haha yes!! This was uniquely frustrating because, unlike most of our boatlife challenges to date, we thought we understood what needed to be done and had all the right tools and knowledge to do it. And we were not getting useful feedback from our attempts so it was hard to tell if it was helping or not. It’s honestly still a bit mysterious why this was so hard. One idea Simon had over our cocktail debrief of BushingGate was to wonder if old paint had gotten in the hole in the hull below - making it tighter and more uneven than it should be. Then we took that as the baseline state and were trying to replicate a bushing that was very snug (because the old ones were really hard to get out). But maybe we just replicated a past mistake we didn’t understand?!? A mystery for the ages…
